Improving Human-Robot Interaction with a Social Attention System

چکیده

In this paper, we present our work on building a social attention system for our sociable robot Leonardo. This system improves the robot’s capabilities when interacting with people, particularly in learning scenarios. We discuss reasons for building such a system, the implementation of the system, and then present an example interaction where such a system is useful. We conclude by discussing other ways in which an attention system would be useful in interactive systems.
